MOBILE advertising and sports marketing could form more than 60 per cent of M&C Saatchi?s revenues within five years, chairman Jeremy Sinclair says.

With increasing dependency on smartphones, he forecast that mobile advertising would see huge growth.

Sinclair believes the division?s growth, as well as that of its sports marketing business, means the two will become bigger than the firm?s traditional business streams.

Additionally, Sinclair says that M&C Saatchi is using its cash to provide seed funding for talented young executives who want to start their own advertising businesses. He said: ?The way conglomerates keep fresh is by buying up young agencies. It?s a permanent cycle. We are doing it differently. I?d like us to start companies at the same rate as someone like WPP buys companies.?

As part of its plan, M&C Saatchi is holding an online competition in which entrants are asked to identify simple ideas that have had a huge global impact, with a paid internship at the firm for the winner.

M&C Saatchi was founded in January 1995 by advertising legends Maurice and Charles Saatchi.
